The Hop Garden in High Spen is a community garden and orchard which works to establish strong links with local, ethical businesses. For last year’s EDSC it launched a new ethical soap making business that had just set up a few miles down the road from the garden, Handmade by Nature, who used ingredients from the garden in a special soap made for the event.
This year’s link up is with a new ethical flower business, Bloomhead, who have been visiting the garden recently to pick flowers for their beautiful, natural bouquets.
From December to March, owner Egle’s goal is to have 30% of her flowers and greenery locally sourced, and between April and November her bouquets are made from 50-70% local and foraged materials. All of the flower wrapping and packaging is 100% bio-degradable, made of either recycled or natural materials.
Join us online for a free virtual workshop (on Facebook and Youtube) filmed at the garden with Egle from Bloomhead to learn how to make your own natural wreath base and dried flower arrangement.
Details of what you need to gather in advance will be send to all registered attendees beforehand.
